1. Lunaria are biennials.
2. I vaguely remember planting some seeds...
3. Somehow I did not mistake them for weeds, and let them grow not only last year, but this spring.
4. They continued growing even when the patio area was redesigned, much dirt displaced. (A fence may have been dropped on them too.)
5. They remind me of my Grandma who had a vase full of them in her hallway.
6. I love the way they sparkle in the sun.
7. And, shine through the lens of my polaroid.
8. I think they are lucky.
9. Peeling their outer skin to reveal their shiny inside is like opening the loveliest present.
10. Many seeds were collected for future years enjoyment.
11. Of course I had to include one more here.

Aw... so pretty.
I love silver dollars but I especially love these with the blue background. The colors are really nice.
they are fabulous !!!
Beautiful photos. I think that they're lucky too!
What lovely pictures-your whole blog is full of amazing images that just emanate such wonderful moods....
Beautiful. This grew all around my Great Aunt Nan's garden shed, but she and my Gran called it "Honesty".
I need to go find some of these seeds. Gorgeousness abounds.
What a beautiful blog you have. My Mom loved these plants. She used to call them money pants...and yes, they are lucky.
I love this. My dad always grew it in his garden and we always called it Honesty too - such a beautiful name for something so pretty.
such beautiful shots, they look so delicate :) i remember the fun of peeling their skins apart too, we used to do it in my granmothers greenhouse/potting shed when we were little and it's a fun memory for me!
Your photos are like the lunaria: transparent and delicate.
I am working on some of these right now too...here are a few from last year:

Wow. They are stunning. So ethereal and dreamy. I love the name Lunaria as well. Luna is moon in Spanish :)
