Mudbound

This weekend I was searching for something on Amazon.com. I can't remember what, because I got distracted when I saw this. (You can see a much larger version there if you click on the image.) I have always wondered about book publishing, and how cover art is created, and now I know a bit more, since my number 8 photograph was chosen for the cover! I would love to work with more publishers, if you are out there... It was a great experience.

This shot is the paperback version of Mudbound, which will be in stores on the 17th. Has anyone read it?

T-
Do you have the Photographer's Market book? There is a new edition each year. I think they do a good job explaining your options.

Their initial contact was through my website... you never know who's searching for something for their next project.

beautiful cover! beautiful photo.

i have not read the book, but i used to work for a small book publsiher. i worked in the creative services department, and was heavily involved in the book cover creation process. i was even given the opportunity to design two book covers. i chose my art from iStock photos. but i would consider it a great honor to use photography from an artist like yourself.

congratulations.

It's lovely Alicia. I could imagine your photographs as cover art for Alice Hoffman as well.

I just read this book -- bought it before I saw this post. The book is really, really good -- I recommend it. Your photograph is *perfect* for the cover, and lovely on its own. Congratulations!
