Happy Anniversary

Five years ago while packing for our "camping across Oregon vacation" we said, "let's find a great beach next week and get married on it."
So we did. And, I'm thankful for it everday.

Williams Wedding

The most loveliest of weddings has come and gone, and we find ourselves back home where a busy week awaits us...and all of that unpacking to do!
The wedding (which was outside, on a gorgeous day) couldn't have been more beautiful! The dresses, the flowers...I wish I could have taken more photos!

At the reception we danced until my daughters little legs could no longer stand, and I was ready for bed too. She outlasted all the other kids, as I knew she would. The girl loves a good party.

Photo Friday-Common

Today's Photo Friday
word is common. I have chosen new pictures taken Wednesday of common little flowers I saw on a walk. Though dancing in the sunlight, they look quite exceptional.

We are off for the weekend, for a lovely wedding in Mt. Pleasant (where my husband and I met, and both went to college.)

Studio Sale

My studio has been gradually spreading throughout my whole house to where my art supplies can now be found in the kitchen, spare bedroom, and basement. Needless to say, it is time for some summer cleaning. This week I will be offering many little goodies in my Etsy Store, blank journals (great for embellishing), jewelry supplies, scraps of fabric, books of inspiration...who knows what you will find. Atlanta Magazine Home Edition

I was informed that three of my photographs were featured in a renovated bedroom in the lastest HOME edition of Atlanta Monthly Magazine. (See them just above the bed!) Shown are the photographs, "Orchid Trail", "Dogwood", and an untitled Gerber Daisy flower.

I just received my copy today, and couldn't be more excited. It is so nice to see my photographs in use, especially in this fabulous room. (If I could create a bedroom for myself it would look just like this!) Similar photographs are available on my website, and I am happy to create a special collection to suit your needs!

Tour de Capitol

Tour de France fever has hit our house, and inspired my husband to enter his first bike race on Sunday. The kids and I sat in the shady lawn of the beautiful Michigan State Capitol building to cheer him on, (though my daughter's cheering quickly went from "GO DAD, YEAH DAD!" to "can we leave now and get some ice cream".)

The race circled the Capitol building 30 times, for a total of over 15 miles. The 95 degree weather had some guys dropping out, but my husband made the whole trip, and did great for his first race. Congratulations! And, if I didn't say it this weekend, you've got some great looking legs!

Photo Friday- Remarkable

Todays photo Friday theme is "remarkable". What kind of parent would I be if I didn't associate this word with my kids. My favorite "remarkable" picture from this month is of my daughter. The little, tiny, 3 year old, who wanted to ride the great, big camel at the zoo. Once she made up her mind to do it, she climbed right up, and happily rode off. Most of the time her face showed that she was a little uncertain, but she never said a word about being scared. Don't you just love her princess crown? I think it makes the picture!

Photo Friday- Summer

I am trying my best to participate in the Photo Friday weekly challenge. This week's theme (Summer) was easy. All of these were taken last week, on a nice night with some alone time with my organic baby. At 11 months he is already a little gardener.

Long Weekend Update

Is anyone else confused about what day it is? How did it get to be Thursday already? What happened to all of those wonderful things we thought we would get done during our long relaxing weekend?
While the weekend did have it's good points, bits of bad kept creeping in to stop us from getting things done. We did get to the beach, but right by the water it was windy and cool, especially for the kids who wouldn't stay out of the water.

Luckily, our friends (the soon to be Mr. & Mrs. Williams, pictured above) live within walking distance from the beach and were gracious hosts, and letting my sandy kids wash up in their too cute, beachy apartment. And then, the sun really came out, and we were able to take a walk along the beautiful Grand Haven Pier before heading home.

Sadly, we didn't make it all the way home before my beloved Blazer decided to die in a parking lot on the side of the highway. We were only about 10 miles from home, but had to call sweet Matt to pick us up. The next day my husband installed a new alternator and battery, and she is as good as new. I am so lucky to have married a smart, handy man.

Monday my goal was to wake up early and get all of my projects done. I was only able to get out for a few hours of picture taking before my big gallbladder attack started. By the afternoon I was back in bed for the day. My gallbladder has been bad for the last 3 years, since my daughter was born. I have months of good, and then it suddenly turns bad. While several of my friends have had theirs removed. I am refusing this type of "treatment" and will let my body heal itself. So, I spent yesterday stocking up on organic food and herbs. Let the healing begin!
